Howdy everyone. As you might or might not know but now will soon to be knowing if you read this post,this is the Vermin Supreme Institute! What is the Vermin Supreme Institute, you might ask? Well, in addition to adding the word institute to Vermin Supreme’s name (and thus institutionalizing the institution), we are a group focused on actually doing all the things we’ve always been saying people *should* be doing (and highlighting others who are also doing these things).
“Our purpose is to inspire social evolution through the disruption of authoritarianism, to promote compassionate activism, and to spread knowledge of redacted history. Through the use of humor, direct action, and mutual aid, we uplift the disaffected, disenfranchised, and disempowered.”
(We also have great plans for the disinfected, disenfrenchfried, and discombobulated coming soon!)
We only just got started at the end of July and we have great plans for the rest of this year. One of our projects is the Beautiful People Initiative. This is a great project that seeks to highlight, promote, and support people or organizations that are performing truly beautiful acts of kindness, direct action, compassionate activism, or mutualism. We feel that by bringing attention to these stories, we can help inspire others to do the same and help build hope, unity, and courage in our communities.
Right now, the Beautiful People initiative is focused on building a network of activists, writing articles about them, and promoting them on our web site and social media. Ultimately, we want to do great promotional videos about these wonderful people and organizations. You can read more about our first two candidates right here on this site!
In addition, we are working on a Food and Toy drive for Winter 2020. Since Vermin Supreme Institute is a national organization, something like this is challenging anyway, but in a COVID world, it’s like double secret probation level challenging!!!
We never give up and never surrender, though! We want to get your ideas so we can put them into our brain holes and make them real! Neither Hurricanes, nor COVID, nor Election Years will keep our intrepid adventurers from completing their sacred mission of bringing joy and a full belly to those in need this winter. We’ll deliver it by pony express if needed! (We know a guy)
So my ask of you is two part:
1) If you or someone you love have been performing acts of compassionate activism, mutualism, or direct action, DON’T WAIT – Reach Out to the Vermin Supreme Institute. You might be qualified for a super swell article and more!
2) If you have some ideas or suggestions for a toy or food drive in your area for Winter 2020/1, we would love to hear from you!
